Beware of iYogi

I recently read an article concerning the India based remote support company.  They used to provide support for Avast.   Remote overseas tech support has always been questionable at best but this really shows us the dark side of this type of business.  They are out to use scare tactics to get your money.

Here locally, iYogi is advertised on AT&T’s  YP.com.   Like other out-of-state or foreign firms, they like to advertise as if they are local.  There are two important things about these type of operations; 1. They are way over-priced.  2.  They clearly do not have the best of intentions.  That is why I used the word, “Beware” in the title for this post.

10 Years of Service

It is now 10 years sense I took over operations at A-1 Computers.   Much has happened since then.   Many local folk from the Tulsa metro area  have been served.  I have provided the best value possible.

The reason behind this blog is to inform folks of what is going on in our changing world of local computer repair service.

Recommendation

Since 1997, A-1 Computers has been there for Tulsans needing help from someone local that they could trust. In March 2002, Eric Huffman took over the operations. He was the first to offer Spyware removal as a service. He is a certified technician. Many local computer users and business have used this service. A-1 Computers is also highly recommended from various reviews. Nowadays, too many firms offer impersonal service at very high rates. A-1 Computers has been friendly, helpful, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. Phone number is 918-704-5921.

Over the Years…

Over the years, there has been many different Personal Computer (PC) repair services herein the Tulsa area. From the big box COMPUSA, to medium sized PC Club, the indoor Dell Kiosk, to numerous small shops, remote-online services, and home based operations. As you may already know, most of them are gone. We are now stuck with a plethora of high priced corporate outfits that contain the name, “Geek”. There are also some office supply stores that offer very expensive in-house service. One would think that with the prices of computer hardware coming down there would reasonable prices for service too.
